Lets start this Monday on a positive note, shall we. If you follow me on Snap Chat you know I am obsessed with taking Pilates, but there was still something missing in my workouts, cardio. Now I love a good intense workout, but I hate cardio. I get bored doing the same thing over and over again so a treadmill is not for me, nor can I sit through an entire class of cycle. But I’ve always enjoyed running outside. In fact, when Pete and I first started dating, going for runs was something that we really enjoyed. But over the years he stopped running due to a back injury and so I stopped with him. The good news is that he recently had the desire to get back to it and I am so happy. Of course getting back has been super hard, like torture, but it has been really been fun. I realized that all I was missing was a partner, someone to push me through it.
After the first couple of runs, I knew I was hooked and ready to start building my running wardrobe. After all, having cute clothes is a good motivator, but I hate spending a lot of cash on it. I personally get all of my workout clothes from Marshalls (this post is not sponsored). Just look at this shirt, it’s probably the most perfect shirt of all time. because, yes I am the world’s okayest runner at this time, but as long I keep at it I know I will improve. Here are my three tips for a beginner.
- Must have good tunes. I put my apple music on shuffle and let it run, but Hip Hop is what I always start with.
- Get a running partner and start small. We do the same route for one week (we typically run 1-2 times a week) and add little more distance each week.
- Get the right gear. The shoes are obviously the most important, but you need the right headphones (we recently invested in wireless beats), a place to put your phone and keys, and of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a cute outfit. I immediately wanted to go for a run after I picked up this shirt.
I hope you have a great week! XxOx, Marisela
