Lets start this Monday on a positive note, shall we. If you follow me on Snap Chat you know I am obsessed with taking Pilates, but there was still something missing in my workouts, cardio. Now I love a good intense workout, but I hate cardio. I get bored doing the same thing over and over again so a treadmill is not for me, nor can I sit through an entire class of cycle. But I’ve always enjoyed running outside. In fact, when Pete and I first started dating, going for runs was something that we really enjoyed. But over the years he stopped running due to a back injury and so I stopped with him. The good news is that he recently had the desire to get back to it and I am so happy. Of course getting back has been super hard, like torture, but it has been really been fun. I realized that all I was missing was a partner, someone to push me through it.

After the first couple of runs, I knew I was hooked and ready to start building my running wardrobe. After all, having cute clothes is a good motivator, but I hate spending a lot of cash on it. I personally get all of my workout clothes from Marshalls (this post is not sponsored). Just look at this shirt, it’s probably the most perfect shirt of all time. because, yes I am the world’s okayest runner at this time, but as long I keep at it I know I will improve. Here are my three tips for a beginner.

  1. Must have good tunes. I put my apple music on shuffle and let it run, but Hip Hop is what I always start with.
  2. Get a running partner and start small. We do the same route for one week (we typically run 1-2 times a week)  and add little more distance each week.
  3. Get the right gear. The shoes are obviously the most important, but you need the right headphones (we recently invested in wireless beats), a place to put your phone and keys, and of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a cute outfit. I immediately wanted to go for a run after I picked up this shirt.

I hope you have a great week! XxOx, Marisela
