I am constantly hearing ladies say, I am short, I can not wear flare jeans. YES YOU CAN! Yes I meant to have that in all caps because that’s exactly how I accentuate those words. Every one can wear anything if you get the fit right. I had an exchange with one of my insta followers (@marialtamirano) about how she can not wear flare jeans because she is short. Well, I am here to tell all you shorties out there that flare jeans are actually that really good friend who you’ve over looked, but she been there this whole time. I can’t say this enough! Flare & wide leg jeans can add inches to your height both literally and figuratively. Heres how.
- I can not stress how important the fit is. When I shop for flares, I always go a size up. You want them to fit perfectly. No bulging, gathering, creasing or cutting off, etc. You want a clean, streamlined feel.
- High waist is our best friend! Here is where the figuratively part comes in. A high waist will bring the eye up, There for giving the impression that your legs start up higher and it’ll give the illusion of longer legs.
- This is so important! These jeans should barely kiss the floor. This means you’ll need to take them to your tailor along with the most comfortable 4-5 inch heel you own (I use a 5 inch because that’s what I have ) and have your tailor hem them to that shoe. You might only be able to wear your flares with one pair of shoes, but no one is going to really see them so who cares!
I promise that if you follow these three steps, you will be able to wear flares. I promise! If have any other tips for pulling off flares please share them with me. If you happen to use these tips also let me know if they worked, or didn’t for that matter.
