THROW BACK

Picture

You all might be able to relate to this. Have you ever fell in love with a piece of clothing so much, you made the store call every other store, and even when you are told they don’t have your size, you still go to the other stores yourself just to make sure. Hopefully you relate and I just didn’t come off like a crazy.

Marshalls recently challenged a few of us Project Fab girls to style one of the seasons hottest trends two ways. When I stepped into Marshalls, I didn’t have a clue as to what I was going to put together. Then it was like the gods split the racks and in front of me was the direct path to this amazing blazer! I ran straight to it and after drooling over it, I realized they didn’t have my size. I kindly asked my friend (yes I have a friend at marshalls & @ every of my go to stores) to call the others stores and check for my size. Of course, I could not accept that so I ran to two different locations looking for my size and of course, they were right. Not a single blazer in my size. So I settled for the next size up. Which I am okay with. They blazer is a “boyfriend” style which already makes it a little oversized and i figured a couple of mm wouldn’t be a big difference.

What I love about the blazer is, 1. The boyfriend cut which will lend will lend well for many occasions. Including a power look for the office. 2. The color. Chartreuse is one of those colors that lends to the color blocking trend. It pairs well with falls hottest colors, navy, Grey, oxblood, purple. Well everything really. 3. It has a throw back vibe with its large lapels and moderate shoulder pads. But finally, it can pull double, or triple duty. For this look I went for the throw back feel by pairing it with my acid wash, ripped Jbrand jeans and just a bralette. Showing a lot of skin is not a throw back I am particularly fond of so I used a statement necklace to cover my exposed décolletage. Stay tuned later this week tho see how else I styled this blazer. Any guesses?
