TIS THE SEASON

wow! It’s December. Where did the year go? Pete and I were talking about it last night and it definitely went by too fast. But as we were talking about it we realized how great the year has been. How much we have grown individually and as a couple, both personally and professionally, and how excited we are for the year to come. 

But before we move on to the next year. Lets celebrate this one! Dressing for the holiday season shouldn’t be scary, or stressful. If I am going to invest in a new frock for the season I have two requirements. 1. It needs be timeless. Something I can pull out again next year and the year after that. 2. Not cost a ton of cash. Being that it’s something that will sit in my closet more than it will see the light, I don’t want to spend my whole shopping budget on it.  You might have already heard me talking about this little metallic number here. I loved it on the rack and I love it on. It is classic, elegant and I love the color. It is so rich and perfect for the holiday season. The best part of it all. IT IS ONLY $24.99! Yup, thats right $24.99. To make it a little more me, I added my favorite skirt (also from marshalls, seen here). This look would also work with a skirt like this or this.  Now, to the coat. Isn’t it amazing? I have been on the market for a holiday appropriate coat. Something that would still look festive while keeping warm. When I was out shopping for my secret santa gift at Marshalls, I spotted this coat. Of course I couldn’t pass it up. It has he perfect amount of shimmer and the clean lines lend to any outfit. I will be wearing this coat with almost everything. They were out of smalls but because it’s already a boxy fit, I was okay going with a medium. Oh. And I also chose this coat as my secret santa gift for my fellow blogger. Isn’t it really #THEBESTGIFTEVER?
